Ravencoin DAG 2026: When 6-GB cards will be phased out

Updated: September 12, 2026 · Default height 4,535,137 · DAG 5,856 MB

KawPow loads the entire DAG into GPU memory. It grows by 8 MB every 7,500 blocks. 4-GB cards are out of the question. 6 GB is expected on March 20, 2027 (Epoch 641, Block 4,807,500). 8 GB will last until around November 2030.

How the DAG Is Growing

Initial value: 1,024 MB, plus 8 MB per epoch. Epoch = block height divided by 7,500, rounded down. With a block time of one minute, 7,500 blocks equate to approximately 5.2 days.

Miners need some headroom above the pure DAG. A card with a nominal 6 GB of memory can run out of memory even before Epoch 641 if Windows, an overlay, or a second monitor uses up memory. That’s why 8 GB is the minimum requirement for hardware you’ll still be buying for RVN in 2026.

What You Should Do

Check the current level on an Explorer or Pool dashboard and enter it above. The table will then update accordingly.

Estimate based on a constant block time. This is not investment advice.
