KAWPOW · Block reward 1,250 RVN · Block time approx. 1 minute · DAG approx. 5.86 GB
Ravencoin remains one of the few major blockchains that can still be mined effectively using consumer GPUs. ASIC hardware plays no role in KAWPOW.
After the second halving on January 15, 2026, the block reward will be 1,250 RVN. The price in mid-September 2026 is 0.0022 USD. Also, the consensus exploit from August 2026. Mining continues—payouts only to an address under your control, Node Core v4.8.0.

1. What Has Changed in 2026
- Reward: 5,000 → 2,500 (January 2022) → 1,250 RVN (January 15, 2026). Next halving around 2030.
- DAG: approximately 5,856–5,900 MB. 4-GB cards are out. 6-GB cards are expected in mid-March 2027 (Epoch 641). Plan for 0.5–1 GB of reserve space for drivers and miners.
- Software: T-Rex and NBMiner are no longer actively maintained. Using archived binaries is risky.
- Network: August 2026, error in the KAWPOW header check. Pools built a clean chain starting at block 4,487,775. Required: Core v4.8.0.
- Withdrawal: Not to an exchange address. Upbit will delist RVN on October 12, 2026; withdrawals will be available until November 11.
2. Will RVN mining be profitable in Germany in 2026?
For household electricity, it’s almost never in euros. It only makes sense if the electricity rate is well below 0.10–0.12 €/kWh, if you already have the hardware and don’t need to buy new equipment, or if you want to hold onto RVN and view the electricity as part of the purchase price.
| Scenario | Electricity Price | Typical result |
|---|---|---|
| Residential Electricity (Germany) | 0.28–0.40 €/kWh | clearly negative |
| Commercial Electricity | 0.12–0.18 €/kWh | often around zero or slightly negative |
| Excess Solar Power / Very Cheap Electricity | less than 0.08 €/kWh | A small increase is possible; price and difficulty are the deciding factors |

3. Hardware 2026
KAWPOW scales with memory throughput and clock speed. Values are typical overclocking/underclocking ranges; they are not guaranteed.
| GPU | VRAM | Estimated Hashrate | GPU load | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RTX 5090 | 32 GB | 80–95 MH/s | 350–460 W | Rough estimate: Electricity eats into the yield |
| RTX 5080 | 16 GB | 58–75 MH/s | 250–340 W | often more efficient than the 5090 |
| RTX 5070 Ti | 16 GB | 43–60 MH/s | 190–330 W | Can be used if the card is already there |
| RTX 5070 | 12 GB | 41–45 MH/s | 180–200 W | solid midrange |
| RTX 4090 | 24 GB | 60–67 MH/s | 300–330 W | A nod to the '40s |
| RTX 4080 / Super | 16 GB | 48–52 MH/s | 250–280 W | OK, don't buy it just for RVN |
| RTX 4070 | 12 GB | approx. 32 MH/s | approx. 170 W GPU | Default in the computer |
| 6 GB (1660 Super, etc.) | 6 GB | — | — | just under, cutoff March 2027 |
8 GB or more is the practical minimum for any hardware you plan to buy for RVN.
4. Software
Active miners (check status, compare file hashes): lolMiner, GMiner, WildRig, TeamRedMiner (AMD), depending on the card. T-Rex/NBMiner is an archive only.
Build a command: Miner Command Generator.
Sample template (fill in the address and pool yourself):
lolMiner --algo KAWPOW --pool eu.ravenminer.com:3838 --user YOUR_R_ADDRESS.worker
5. Pools
| Pool | Region: Germany/EU | Schedule / Fee | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2Miners | EU, low ping | PPLNS approx. 1%, solo | Recovery kept up |
| RavenMiner | Frankfurt plus the U.S. and Asia | PPLNS 0.5%, PPS+ 1% | Specializing in RVN |
| HeroMiners | EU/US/Asia | about 0.9% | smaller alternative |
Details and Stratum rows: Pool overview.
Avoid: Pools with no identifiable node version following the exploit, withdrawals directly to Upbit, and a single pool consistently accounting for more than 50% of the network's hashrate.
6. DAG, Epochs, 6-GB Appointment
- Historical startup size: 1,024 MB
- Plus 8 MB per epoch
- One epoch = 7,500 blocks (roughly every 5.2 days)
As of September 2026: Epoch ~604, DAG approx. 5,856 MB. Live: DAG clock.
| VRAM | Status |
|---|---|
| 4 GB | long since unusable |
| 6 GB | limited, cutoff around March 20, 2027 |
| 8 GB | comfortable until around the end of 2030 |
| 10 GB+ | not an issue in this decade |
When the epoch changes, the miner regenerates for 30–120 seconds.
7. Payout
Only to an R address from Core 4.8.0 or Electrum-Ravencoin. Check first. Do not mine on Binance, Bitvavo, or Upbit.
8. Quick Check
