Updated on September 16, 2026. Based on the Bitvavo announcement dated September 7, 2026. This is not investment advice.
Bitvavo will delist Ravencoin on Friday, September 18, 2026. Anyone with RVN in their account has just a few weeks left. Deposits will end at 1:00 p.m., spot trading at 2:00 p.m., and withdrawals at 3:00 p.m. Central European Summer Time. Bitvavo will convert any remaining balance to euros by September 28 at the latest.
The date has nothing to do with Upbit. Upbit will continue trading RVN through October 12 and will process withdrawals through November 11. For many readers in Germany and the Netherlands, Bitvavo was the direct route to trading in euros. It will close two days after this publication. Anyone who confuses the two calendars will find themselves without coins and with no time left on Friday afternoon.
What Bitvavo Has Decided
On September 7, 2026, Bitvavo announced that KAVA, XNO, and RVN would be delisted on September 18. The exchange cited the usual reasons: trading volume and liquidity, network security and stability, team activity, and customer interest. The announcement does not say that Ravencoin is over. Nor does it say that the chain is unusable again after the August patch. For the balance in your account, the only thing that matters is the calendar.
The original announcement can be found at bitvavo.com (Delisting of KAVA, XNO, and RVN). Bitvavo Support explains the general process for delisting.
Times on September 18, 2026
| Step | Time (CEST) |
|---|---|
| Deposits Closed | 1:00 p.m. |
| Buy and Sell Closed | 2:00 p.m. |
| Payouts Closed | 3:00 p.m. |
| Balance in euros | no later than September 28 |
After trading is suspended, the euro balance may briefly show 0. Bitvavo notes that the display may take a moment to update. The exchange sets the conversion rate. Anyone who wants to keep their coins should not wait for this to happen.
If RVN is held on Bitvavo
- Get a receiving address that starts with "R." Electrum-Ravencoin will work for this. Core version 4.8.0 is required if you want a full node. Core does not need to be fully synchronized to withdraw funds from the exchange.
- Check the address. It must be Ravencoin—not Bitcoin, not Lightning, not Memo, not ERC-20.
- First, send 1 RVN as a test, check your wallet, and then send the rest.
- Don't start at 2:50 p.m. Support and 2FA will take up the last hour.
If you don't want to hold onto the coins, you can sell them for euros on Bitvavo before 2:00 p.m. This is a decision regarding your own holdings; it is not a recommendation from us.
If Core is still syncing
Many people have set up new wallets following the August exploit. Headers and the first few blocks take time. The “Weeks” display often makes no sense once the block height increases. This doesn’t matter for Bitvavo. The exchange sends RVN to an address. Electrum queries the server, not your local chain. A ledger is linked to Electrum, not to a half-finished Core folder.
Once Core is available later, you can transfer your funds from Electrum to Core. That's a second step and no reason to stay on Bitvavo on Friday.
Two stock exchanges, two calendars
Bitvavo used to be the direct euro spot exchange. It will be discontinued on September 18. After that, you will no longer be able to easily buy RVN with euros on this platform within the EU.
Upbit was the major KRW exchange. Trading will end on October 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Korean time, and withdrawals will end on November 11. The reason given is that it is a high-risk asset following the consensus error in August.
Binance offers RVN/USDT, and other exchanges may add more listings. These listings are subject to change. Before making any deposit on the exchange, check for yourself whether deposits and withdrawals are available.
If you do nothing
Bitvavo will sell the remainder and credit your account with euros. You won’t get the same RVN back later; instead, you’ll receive an amount in euros at a rate you don’t set. If that’s what you want, you can proceed this way. If you want to keep your Ravencoin, you must withdraw it before 3:00 p.m.
XNO is on the same delisting list, but it can't be withdrawn from Bitvavo because it's only tradable there. RVN can be withdrawn, as long as the window is open.
Three Things That Don't Go Together
- Bitvavo: September 18, 2026, 3:00 p.m., final RVN payout.
- Upbit: Trading on October 12, withdrawal on November 11.
- KawPow-DAG and 6-GB cards: expected in March 2027. That refers to graphics card memory, not a stock exchange.
For more information on Upbit and DAG, see the longer article here: Upbit delists RVN; 6-GB cards valid through March 2027.
FAQ
Can I still make a withdrawal after 3:00 p.m.?
Not according to the schedule. According to the schedule, the euro conversion period runs through September 28.
Is a stock exchange address sufficient as a destination?
Only if the destination exchange actually accepts RVN and requires a standard R address. After August, deposits were temporarily suspended. Using your own wallet is the simpler option.
Does Bitvavo require a payment reference?
No. The exchange needs the address. An RVN invoice helps you with the QR code at most—not Bitvavo.
Does that mean Ravencoin is over?
A delisting closes a book. The chain continues to run as long as miners and nodes are running version 4.8.0. Whether this is a reason for you to buy or sell is not addressed in this text.
